Travelling safely
in the community

Neighbourhood Watch Victoria believes that everybody  has the right to feel safe at all times.

Neighbourhood Watch 4 Kids will take you on an interactive learning journey to improve safety knowledge, increase confidence and empower your child to trust their instincts and react appropriately to unsafe situations.

This portal is designed to help prepare for independent travel and reinforce what children need to know. Regularly revisit plans as things can change as kids mature.

The learning journey...

The activities within this portal are designed for caregivers and their children to complete together.

You can stop and restart at anytime and come back to modules as needed.

Topics covered...

  • Identifying who you can trust and what to do in an emergency
  • Recognising and reacting when you feel unsafe
  • Planning your child's route and identifying safety hazards in a virtual neighbourhood

Help your child to learn their personal information and contact details for carers and emergency services.

A Personal Network helps children to implement the idea that, we can talk with someone about anything.
Our Early Warning Signs are our body's way of communicating that we are feeling unsafe and may need to get away from a situation.

The Three R's is an easy way for children to remember how to react to an unsafe situation.

Some routes in the community are safer than others, but often we can't avoid all potential safety risks. Help your child to understand how to protect their safety on their route.
